Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”)
Since inception, Equis has incorporated the management of ESG standards into our investment strategy and practices, as well as our policies and procedures. These systems ensure that ESG considerations are a fundamental component of the investment decision process and remain a central focus during the development, construction and operation of all our portfolio investments.

Our investment decisions and operational policies include international development and sustainability best practices in accordance with the IFC Performance Standards, the World Bank Environmental and Social Standards, the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, as well as the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (“UNPRI”).

Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”)
As part of our commitment to sustainable development, we firmly believe in engaging local communities throughout our portfolio projects’ investment life-cycles – from the initial stages of project development through to operations. Therefore we implement CSR programs with the aim of increasing the quality of life in the local communities where we operate, seeking to improve access to services and to provide further economic and educational opportunities.

Our CSR programs are developed through consultation with the communities and mainly target infrastructure, health and education initiatives to improve their quality of life, with a particular focus on women and children. In addition, we also encourage all portfolio companies to enhance the environment near project sites through tree planting, erosion prevention and community clean-ups. Please refer to our Sustainability Report for additional details.
